The PMC fact.12 Signature takes one of the company's most accomplished floorstanding loudspeakers and raises its performance further, incorporating engineering and component developments derived from the flagship fact fenestria. Designed for larger listening spaces, the fact.12 Signature combines PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass-loading technology with a dedicated soft-dome midrange driver, twin long-throw bass units and a high-resolution SONOMEX soft-dome tweeter. The result is a wonderfully open, natural and effortless presentation, capable of delivering impressive scale and dynamics while retaining the clarity and subtlety required to bring quieter musical details vividly to life.

Signature Performance

The most significant changes in the Signature version are found within the crossover, where lessons learned during development of PMC's flagship fact fenestria have been applied to the fact range. PMC's research showed that tiny internal vibrations can adversely affect crossover components. To minimise these effects, the fact.12 Signature uses premium British capacitors and German non-inductive resistors selected specifically for their resistance to micro-vibration. These are combined with carefully positioned, hand-selected components and thick pure-copper circuit tracks to help preserve the integrity of the incoming audio signal. The aim is simple: greater transparency, musicality and resolution, without changing the fundamental character that made the original fact.12 so highly regarded.

Three-Way Driver Design

At the heart of the fact.12 Signature is a dedicated 50mm hand-built soft-dome midrange driver. Developed using design elements from the midrange unit found in the fact fenestria, it is engineered to reproduce voices and instruments with exceptional clarity, openness and spatial definition. High frequencies are handled by PMC's proven 19mm SONOMEX soft-dome tweeter, designed to deliver a smooth extended response and stable stereo image across a wide listening area rather than restricting the best performance to a narrow sweet spot.

Deep, Controlled Bass

Two bespoke 140mm super-long-throw bass drivers provide the fact.12 Signature's low-frequency foundation. Their lightweight coated-alloy cones combine rigidity with low mass, while powerful magnet systems allow the drivers to move significant amounts of air while remaining tightly controlled.

They work together with PMC's 3.3-metre Advanced Transmission Line to produce bass extending down to 26Hz from an unusually slim cabinet. Unlike a conventional ported loudspeaker, ATL makes use of the energy generated behind the bass drivers, passing it through a carefully damped internal transmission line. Higher frequencies are absorbed within the cabinet while the lowest frequencies emerge from the front vents, extending bass response while helping keep the midrange clean and free from unwanted low-frequency coloration. This also allows the fact.12 Signature to retain a full and balanced presentation at lower listening levels - useful when you want to hear the complete musical picture without necessarily playing loudly.

Tailored To Your Room

No two listening rooms are identical, so PMC provides rear-panel controls that allow the fact.12 Signature's bass and treble balance to be subtly adjusted after installation. High-quality switching is mounted into the solid rear panel, allowing the loudspeaker's response to be fine-tuned to suit room acoustics, system matching and positioning. Three pairs of silver-coated PMC terminals also provide support for tri-wiring or tri-amping.

Designed And Built In The UK

PMC designs and hand-builds its loudspeakers in the UK, with individual components measured and graded before assembly. Completed speakers undergo computer-based testing before being individually listened to and compared with PMC's reference standard, with the two loudspeakers in every pair cross-checked for matching performance. Despite its considerable performance capability, the fact.12 Signature retains the elegant proportions for which the fact range is known. At just 168mm wide through the main cabinet, it delivers genuine large-scale loudspeaker performance without dominating the room.
