Beabadoobee -This Is How Tomorrow Moves (1LP/GF/RED)

Beabadoobee – This Is How Tomorrow Moves is the third studio album from Beabadoobee and a confident step forward for an artist who has developed far beyond the bedroom-pop beginnings of her earliest recordings. Released in 2024, the album combines the alternative rock and '90s influences that have always run through her music with warmer, more sophisticated songwriting and production.

Produced by Rick Rubin, the album features standout tracks including "Take a Bite", "Coming Home", "Ever Seen" and "Beaches". Guitars remain at the heart of the record, but there is plenty of variety, moving from bright, immediate indie rock to quieter and more intimate moments built around Beabadoobee's distinctive vocals.

Lyrically, This Is How Tomorrow Moves is often reflective, looking at relationships, growing older and learning to recognise personal mistakes rather than simply blaming somebody else when things go wrong. That maturity gives the album a slightly different character from her earlier work without losing the directness and melodic instinct that made those records so appealing.

Warm, melodic and beautifully produced, This Is How Tomorrow Moves feels like an artist becoming increasingly comfortable in her own sound. There are echoes of '90s alternative rock throughout, but this is much more than an exercise in nostalgia – a thoughtful, engaging modern indie record with some of Beabadoobee's strongest songs to date.
